About Me

IMG-3612.JPG

When I was seventeen, I started to follow my calling as a birth worker. Initially, I intended to pursue a career as a neurosurgeon, but after reaching a significant life milestone, it made me reconsider. I had very little knowledge of pregnancy. However, I was certain that I wanted to support mothers and their families in having a memorable birth experience. When I attended my first birth and saw my client's baby head crowned, it ignited a fire within me to pursue this path further and become a midwife. Assisting women and their families at such a memorable moment in their lives is a genuine source of fulfillment and privilege for me.

The Person Who Inspired It All..

My mother was my inspiration. When I was born, the umbilical cord was wrapped around my neck three times, which therefore required an urgent cesarean delivery. She went through a great deal of trauma. During her fourth pregnancy and labor with my brother, she underwent another traumatic experience that nearly cost her and him their lives.

Since then, my priorities have been to lower the rate of maternal and infant mortality among POC (people of color) by educating mothers about their labor options and proving to mothers that giving birth shouldn't be traumatic and that they should have faith in their ability to give birth. Considering that giving birth should be a happy occasion.
